    Job Purpose

    The Associate Consultant will support the Land team's senior management and work on projects associated with downstream Oil & Gas sector clients, including contaminated land assessment, environmental liability management and remediation. This role involves programme management and business development, close engagement with clients, and driving the completion of work by the SLR team members.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Programme Management and Business Development associated with key clients
  • Close engagement with Client contacts and driving the completion of work by the SLR team members
  • Provide strategic and technical consulting advice to clients and SLR staff on contaminated site/remediation projects and proposals
  • Act as the regional team lead for the land quality and remediation team based in Durban and other African offices
  • Mentor and train staff, implement strategies to enhance SLR's technical expertise and innovation related to contaminated site assessment and management
  • Support and supervise the team to ensure alignment with Clients' technical and administrative approaches, Health and Safety expectations and drive efficiency
  • Manage complex and significant projects and proposals, budgets, and schedules
  • Complete detailed QA/QC reviews of technical work, reports, and proposals
  • Drive staff compliance with SLR administrative procedures and processes and KPIs
  • Coordinate the delivery of projects at a regional level and maintain effective communication with Regional SLR leads and Client Portfolio Managers
  • Track and report KPIs (including project schedules; budgets; and Health and Safety performance) specific to each Client's requirements
