MARKETING AND SALES MANAGER
RETURNAfrica is looking for an innovative Marketing & Sales Manager to join its team in Johannesburg.

This is a challenging position for a highly motivated individual who will help the company expand its market share and reinvigorate its marketing drive.

A passion for community and conservation, and experience in marketing and sales is essential. Previous direct involvement in tourism is recommended but is not strictly a requirement.

A competitive remuneration package will be offered.

The duties of the Marketing & Sales Manager will include but not be restricted to:
a) All duties in respect of marketing of the portfolio of tourism products managed by the Company:

Development of a marketing strategy and budget
Brand Management and Brand Visibility
Management of media relationships including organising media trips
Representation at trade shows local and international
Building a strong social media presence, incl. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X and TikTok
Paid campaign management including social advertising and print media, including content creation
SEO management and optimisation
Google Adwords management and optimisation
Website development, management and optimisation

b) Management of sales, including

Supplier relationship management, including maintaining and building trade relationships with DMC's, tour operators and agents
Implementation of digital sales strategies
Research and analysis of local market trends (industry, competitors, customer, distribution channels), identifying target markets and how best to reach them
Arranging and hosting educationals
Contracting
Rates management
Presentations and product training with the trade
Liaison and maintenance/strengthening of relationships with product managers
Weddings
Dealing with unhappy guests/agents/tour operators
Working with representation agencies

c) Administration, including:

Liaison with bookkeeper
Oversight of the reservations team including checking invoicing, refunds, accounts administration, outstanding payments, etc.
Reporting on sales, guest demographics etc
Sales projections
Maintenance of Association memberships

d) The Employee will report directly to the CEO with a dotted line to the Board.
