A position has become available for a Quality Assurance, Environment, Health and Safety Manager (QEHS) based in Vereeniging, Gauteng.


JOB STATEMENT
Responsible to lead, support and develop the QEHS function for Pump Operations at Metso.

This role will be expected to continually develop processes to best fit the Pump Operations and in supporting of our customer needs and expectations.

Active support for positive Safety mindset development throughout the Pump Operations environment.


Support the outsources supply chain methodology through an approved and qualified outsourced supplier and supported by global and local vendors to ensure globally accept quality control standards.


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage, develop, and supervise the day-to-day performance of quality and safety
Analyzes, investigate, and monitor root causes for quality and production failures and provide new processes and or procedures to prevent reoccurrences
Support implementation of Metso 's Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and programs in compliance with legal requirements, company standards and customer site requirements
Participate in the QEHS internal auditing process, ensuring follow-up on corrective and/or improvement actions
Monitor and maintain local and global Key Performance Indicators relating to QEHS
Understand customer QEHS requirements and ensure 100% compliance from Metso
Analyses all QEHS incidents to work towards a zero-incident target
Provide support to ensure we all fullfill our HSE responsibilities
Implement and support HSE initiatives
Facilitate incident/ accident investigation and follow up on the corrective action
Ensure local emergency preparedness
Support the approved outsourced supplier with any quality issues arising from non-conforming parts and drawings to Metso global standards and requirements
Manage the approved outsourced supplier to the compliance to Metso policies, procedures, GPS documents, and quality requirements
Setup and manage the Service Level Agreements with approved outsourced supplier to ensure agreed upon
Assist the approved outsourced supplier with the development of tools, jigs and fixtures to ensure a high level of quality product
Inspect, test, and release equipment and spare parts
Raise defect reports/corrective action and log quality notifications in the correct software (SAP, Salesforce and Feedback Porthole) etc
Assist assembly personnel with problem components
Onsite & offsite inspections and liaison with suppliers
Compile and submit monthly Quality Assurance (QA) reports to local and global structures per global QA requirements
Liaise with customer QA inspectors and adhere to customer quality standards and requirements per pump project
Assist and support repair workshop with failure reports and warranty claim reports on parts and equipment
Assist and support with incoming inspections at the warehouse when required
Assist and support the entire Pump Operations team to ensure the timely execution of all pump equipment orders
Manage the entire customer complaint process through Sales force
Assist global QA departments with quality issues on local suppliers
Perform other duties as required by the Operations Manager - Metso South Africa - Pump Division

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Matric (Grade 12)
Bachelor's degree or National diploma in Mechanical Engineering quality qualifications
10-year QA experience collaborating with Suppliers and Customer in an integrated global supply chain in mining environment
5 years' experience in a Health and Safety environment
Computer literate and good knowledge of business tools (SAP ERP, Microsoft office products -Outlook, Office, Excel, Saleforce, PowerBI, EveryAngle)

Strong customer / customer business understanding and customer service mindset
Global mindset - must be able to work across different disciplines to deliver result
Strong background and/or third party EHS training and certifications
