Description

A holistic branding and communication agency is seeking an Art Director to join their team. Based in Kloof.

Primary:
Art direction on shoot

Contributing to brainstorms and workshops when necessary, doing research and finding best practise examples and references.
Working closely with campaign creators (lead brand designer, content strategist & creative director) to understand and appropriately interpret the campaign and shoot requirements.
Following through the concept and creative direction on shoots through effective art direction, ensuring the concept is brought to life.
Overseeing and being very involved in the shoot planning process in order to have context for the shoot to ensure an effective outcome:
Model selection
Location selection
Styling briefs
Lighting briefs
Shoot plans, etc
Ability to work well with internal team members (designers, writers, shoot coordinators, account managers etc) in a pressurised environment.
Good people leadership skills to ensure a cohesive and happy shoot crew (photographer, stylist, assistants, models, clients etc).
Need to be agile and flexible to handle shoot environments and manage last minute changes calmly and decisively.
Need a discerning and creative eye both in the shoot art direction (which requires firm and quick decision making) and in doing image selects.

Requirements:

5 or more years' experience in a similar environment.
Relevant degree or diploma qualification.
Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
Excellent knowledge and experience in ecomms and social media design
Proficient in MS Office.
