Job Advert Summary:


MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB**To assist LBIC/ LBLIC Operations Manager with Data Management analysis, systems administration, Management reporting and Business Analysis for Short-term and Long-term insurance business.

Management and execution of backup and recovery processes and the scheduling of all database maintenance related jobs.


Key Performance Areas:


1. Database Development and Maintenance

  • Develop and maintain database (repository system) which incorporates data from across programme components of all business partners.
  • Refinement of the data management system
  • Coordinate the management processes of all data sources.
  • Coordinate data collection, collation and reporting system development and maintenance at a national level and within projects
  • Ensure reporting, compliance and data quality processes are in place within projects.

2. Business Analysis

  • Formulate, implement & enforce proper data collection procedures
  • Map business system descriptions
  • Establish data quality standards with business partners
  • Maintain business partner relations
  • Define configuration specifications and business analysis requirements for the business
  • Perform quality assurance of all business specifications.
  • Define reporting and alerting requirements for the various business portfolios
  • Own and develop relationship with partners (UMA'a and Brokers), working with them to optimize and enhance business integration and data
  • Help design, document and maintain system processes for process and data integration
  • Report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations to improve integration with business partners

3. Management Reporting

  • Designing of report template layout.
  • Determination of data spec for partners data collection in line with legislation.
  • Identify trends, emerging developments through data analysis and make recommendations.
  • Specified intervals of MIS reporting.
  • For business partner reporting: planning and coordinating the respective business partner reporting specification and reporting templates.
  • Disseminating, and if necessary, further elaborating, businesswide instructions and timelines for planning and reporting of all stakeholders.

4. Data Quality Assurance

  • Provides input and recommendations into the development and trends into the market in terms of data management.
  • Consults existing control systems to determine their effectiveness and recommend improvements where necessary.
  • Develops the first draft of the control system in accordance with company format and requirements.
  • Communicates the implementation of the control system in accordance with best practice.
  • Implements control systems in accordance with policies, procedures and legal requirements

Preferred Minimum Education and Experience:


  • Relevant 4 year Commercial/IT Degree
  • Arithmetic and Statistic Qualification
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in database management & Business intelligence
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in report design, layout and presentation of MIS
  • 1 to 3 years' experience in short term and/or Life general insurance
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in Data Analysis
