Overview and Key Responsibilities


The Junior Technician will be responsible to perform required installation and maintenance activities at the DA Plant and if required at other Reef operational sites, in an effective, efficient, and safe manner.

Key areas of responsibility for this role include but are not limited to:


  • Assisting with and performance of planned & unplanned maintenance activities as directed;
  • Assisting Technician with the performance of identified project activities as directed;
  • Responsible for planning, communicating and reporting on maintenance and installation activities within the area;
  • Assisting with the required safety and departmental systems;
  • Compliance to required Safety systems and protocols.

Essential Requirements

  • A Matric certificate with Maths and Science;
  • A completed N3 qualification;
  • Must be a Red Seal Trade tested artisan (Millwright or Fitter);
  • Must have 23 years electrical and/or mechanical maintenance experience;
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in the MS Office Suite;
  • Must be willing to work shifts and overtime as and when required;
  • Must be willing to be on standby on weekends and public holidays;

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Meyerton, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- electrical and/or mechanical maintenance work: 3 years (required)


License/Certification:

  • Red Seal Trade tested artisan (required)
