The Role:

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Land Reform, Community Development, Social Sciences, Post Graduate degree preferred.
Minimum of 15 years of experience working on matters of land reform and, community development, - this is non-negotiable.

Knowledge, Ability, and Skills:
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and management skills.
Extensive understanding of BBBEE principles.
Highly organized with strong problem-solving proficiency.
Ability to communicate in English, isiZulu, isiXhosa, Sepedi / Tsonga.
Culturally sensitive.
Ability to adapt and manage disruption.
Exceptional knowledge and demonstrated understanding of FSC, ESG as well as forestry legislation.
Ability to lead and work in a team.
In-depth knowledge of land restitution and tenure.
Demonstrated knowledge of traditional and political structures as well as local government structures.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to manage risk.
Exceptional conflict resolution skillsAbility to hold crucial conversations.
Ability to influence and negotiate.
Business writing and reporting skills.
Exceptional leadership, interpersonal and people management skills.

Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive community development land reform strategy in alignment with legislative requirements.
Lead and manage all aspects of land claims, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Oversee community development engagements and initiatives to foster positive relationships with local communities.
Establish and manage grievance, complaints, and disputes mechanisms effectively.
Manage the entire life cycle of stakeholder engagement processes.
Handle risk management across communities, directly addressing protests and conflicts.

Oversee the full life cycle of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and BBBEE actions related to community and land reform.
