Our client, a new restaurant, tasting room and venue for indoor and outdoor events to be launched in 2023, located in Suid-Agter Paarl, is looking to appoint a General Manager to manage the daily operations.

This position requires extensive management and leadership experience in the hospitality industry. The successful incumbent will manage a team of 60 staff.


The incumbent will be responsible for: *Strategic management of the restaurant and tasting room *Representing the company at relevant industry associations, events and social media *Identify and evaluate potential growth opportunities to lead and develop marketing strategies to promote the business *Lead, manage and oversee the overall brand profiles and positioning in the market *Compile and manage short, medium, and long-term budgets and forecasts *Personnel management *Implement strategies to grow the business market share, visitors and revenue *Liaison with the public and all relevant stakeholders *Handle customer complaints efficiently *All other duties related to the position.


Essential qualifications, skills and experience:


  • BCom degree in Business Administration/hospitality management;
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a restaurant management position;
  • Professional knowledge and thorough understanding of hospitality/restaurant environment;
  • Sound knowledge of financial administration, marketing and business environment;
  • Good personnel management;
  • Excellent attention to detail (food preparation and service delivery);
  • Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English);
  • Valid driver's license.
