    Procurement Officer

    A company specializing in delivering complete and comprehensive certification-ready Automation, Simulation, Communication, and Ground Control Solutions seeks a Procurement Officer.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    1. Requesting quotations and ordering materials from approved suppliers to meet the company's demand;
    2. Maintaining acceptable levels of materials and accurate documentation on the ERP;
    3. Timely creation and submission of Purchase Orders for approval via the ERP;
    4. Completing external provider evaluations to ensure compliance with AS9100;
    5. Conducting incoming inspections once material has arrived;
    6. Capturing purchased stock and materials on the ERP;
    7. Addressing supplier queries promptly and efficiently;
    8. Communicating progress from vendors and suppliers to team members and managers;
    9. Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times product ranges, etc;
    10. Complying with current company procurement procedures and policies; and
    11. Performing minor support roles within the company as required.

    Requirements:

    1. Minimum Qualifications:
      • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Purchasing; or equivalent; or suitable experience in excess of 10 years.
    2. Required Skills and Experience:
      • 2-5 years of relevant industry experience;
      • Excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written);
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel etc);
      • Excellent administrative & organisational skills;
      • Excellent planning & coordinating skills;
      • Strong communication and negotiation skills;
      • Good analytical and strategic thinking skills;
      • A good understanding of Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and potential issues; and
      • Pro-active approach to own and manage technical query processes between suppliers and engineers.
    3. Recommended Skills and Experience:
      • Experience in procurement of Electronic components;
      • Experience in coordinating international shipping from suppliers; and
      • Familiar with ERP systems.

    The estimated salary for this position is based on the title, job description, and location. It falls within the range of R360k - R420k per annum.
