    About the Role:

    We are seeking a candidate with a robust technical background in cybersecurity, acting as the primary technical liaison for the Africa region.

    The specialist will implement organizational security protocols, collaborate with both internal and global teams, and ensure adherence to all security measures.

    The ideal candidate is a natural leader, articulate, and a collaborative team member.




    Key Responsibilities:

    Security Integration:
    Embed security practices within software development alongside development, operations, and security teams.

    Risk Assessment & Controls:
    Identify potential security vulnerabilities; implement and oversee security protocols (firewalls, encryption, multi-factor authentication).

    Incident Response & Management:
    Investigate and respond to security breaches; conduct routine security evaluations and assessments.

    Policy Development & Compliance:
    Formulate and maintain security policies, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

    Technical Point of Contact:
    Provide support to multiple countries in the Africa region, ensuring security measures and KPIs are achieved.

    Infrastructure & System Hardening:
    Assist with the patching and maintenance of servers, ensuring the fortification of servers, applications, and websites.

    Project Collaboration & Mentorship:
    Collaborate on cybersecurity initiatives; mentor and train team members.

    Escalation & Troubleshooting:
    Act as the escalation point; resolve security-related issues.

    Threat Intelligence Reporting:
    Present threat intelligence findings to technical teams and executives.

    Stakeholder Communication:
    Keep stakeholders updated on KPIs and project progress; respond to incidents outside of regular hours if necessary.

    Vulnerability Management:
    Oversee vulnerability management and patch management initiatives.


    Education and Required Experience:

    Technical Proficiency:
    Extensive knowledge of technical terminology and security tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR, XDR).

    Educational Background:
    Relevant degree or advanced diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent experience.


    Standards Knowledge:
    Familiarity with ISO27001 and ISO27002, NIST, or CIS.
    Professional Experience: 5-10 years in a cybersecurity role.
    IT Experience:
    Proficiency with common IT systems (Windows, VMware, Cisco, UNIX, Linux).


    Vulnerability & Malware Analysis:
    Experience with threat and attack analysis.

    • Security Tools &

    Cloud Operations:
    Experience with WAF, Proxy, DNS, IDS, firewalls, data loss prevention, and cloud security operations.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Proven work experience in cybersecurity and DevSecOps.
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

    Skills:

    Analytical & Problem-Solving:
    Excellent analytical skills to tackle complex security challenges.

    Communication:
    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for reports, briefings, and collaboration.

    Project Management:
    Strong project management abilities, including knowledge of Scrum.

    Adaptability:
    Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and adapt to evolving environments.

    Global Collaboration:
    Capacity to develop and maintain global working relationships.

    Technology Awareness:
    Stay informed about technology trends and developments.

    Remuneration:
    R300 per hour
