Requirements:


  • 2 years' experience in a similar environment.
  • Food and beverage experience.
  • Deadline orientated and a good eye for detail and ability to multitask.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Driver's license advantageous.
  • Must be willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
  • Excellent Customer Relations.
  • Computer literate.
  • High level of telephone etiquette & excellent allround communication skills.
  • Professional and well groomed.

Key Performance Areas & Main Duties:

  • Welcoming and checking in and checking out of guests.
  • Dealing with guest requests and resolving any complaints/issues quickly to maintain high quality customer service.
  • Providing guests with information of restaurants, activities and services.
  • Responsible for accurate and efficient accounts and guest billing processes.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in the hotel reception area, dining room, patio, upstairs venue, and balcony at all times.
  • To report any maintenance, breakage, or cleanliness problems to the General or Maintenance Manager
  • To undertake general office duties.
  • To manage all reservation processes, ensuring accurate room bookings and recording, efficient processing of reservations and cancellations, timely followup on payments, provisional reservations, and requests to meet turnaround times.
  • To host, assist and engage with guests during breakfast, lunch and dinner or conferences / weddings, as well as rounds at the swimming pool.
  • Act as Duty Manager when required.
  • Upselling of all merchandise.
  • Servicing of beverages and food, setting up buffet and stocking honesty bar, setting up of braai, cooking and preparing platters, light meals and picnics.
  • Assist with room checks and managing housekeeping.
  • Stock control.
  • Assist with social media.
