This is a dedicated Registered Nurse position in a psychiatric setting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing patient care according to the Scope of Practice, taking full responsibility for activities related to patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive patient care, adhering to established standards and protocols.
• Contribute to the holistic care of patients, engaging with multidisciplinary teams during handover reports.
• Recognize critical situations and respond promptly and appropriately.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care plans and promote overall health and wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records, ensuring compliance with relevant health regulations.
• Effectively manage stock levels, ensuring proper inventory control and credit procedures.
• Promote positive relationships with patients, relatives, and visitors through excellent customer service skills.

Requirements

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse or equivalent NQF 7 qualification.
• Matriculation certificate is mandatory.
• Relevant experience in a Psychiatric Department is highly valued.
• Compulsory Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is essential.
• Advanced computer literacy is required.
• Flexibility in working hours and shifts is necessary.
• Ability to implement and maintain health practice standards as per accredited bodies and health legislation.
