Urban-Econ Development Economists (Pty) Ltd requires the services of a young and vibrant
Senior Property
Economist who has an interest in Property Development, Economics and Research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compile professional property research reports;
- Analyse statistics and demographic information;
- Draft property market feasibility studies and strategies;
- Conduct indepth propertyrelated research and assessments;
- Liaise and consult with clients and stakeholders both verbal and written;
- Manage specific assignments and serve as the main point of liaison with clients, representing the company;
- Compile clear and practical work plans for the deliverables with appropriate timeframes and report progress;
- Draft monthly progress reports to clients;
- Manage a small team of researchers, allocate responsibilities and deadlines;
- Guide and motivate researchers throughout each project;
- Review and analyse policies;
- Conduct relevant primary and secondary research using a variety of techniques;
- Facilitate focusgroup meetings and workshops;
- Regular adhoc reporting to branch manager;
- Prepare and deliver presentations to large audiences;
- Undertake additional tasks as requested of them by their seniors and Unit Manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Good understanding of the property market
- Knowledge of retail, commercial, housing, medical and filling station feasibility assessments, among others;
- Good understanding of property demand and financial modelling.
- Project Management experience;
- Ability to work with junior staff members and motivate small teams;
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to delegate responsibilities and hold others accountable;
- Ability to identify information sources and collect information;
- Ability to organise and analyse data;
- Ability to organise time and meet deadlines;
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken language;
- Good numerical skills;
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint;
- Good academic referencing skills;
- Strong public speaking abilities (Presentations);
- Must be interested in economic research & development, report writing as well as data analysis.
Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable):
- Matric;
At least 3 years relevant experience in the property industry:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in either Town and Regional Planning, Economics, Statistics, Development Studies or Human Geography;
- Previous research project management experience;
- Own vehicle and a valid Driver's License (Code B).
