    Key Responsibilities

    The role involves providing new and existing clients with professional and relevant financial advice, planning, and products that cater to their needs and requirements.

    • Undertake the procurement of sustainable business of high quality, in accordance with set business targets.
    • Maintain and service these clients as part of a long-term relationship, fostering loyalty to the brand and generating ongoing advice and sales.

    The activities will be carried out within a compliant and ethical manner, contributing to the building and sustaining of the Sanlam Group business and brand.

    Requirements for Success

    To excel in this role, one must:

    • Be committed to marketing plans and targets set for growing and developing the business, as outlined by the distribution strategy.
    • Apply knowledge and understanding of market segmentation and customer profiles to support sales and growth within the defined market.
    • Undertake relevant behaviors to attain targets relating to revenue generation, activity quotas, promoting the Sanlam brand, treating customers fairly, and aligning the role with personal career aspirations.

    This includes:

    • Networking, prospecting, and leads generation through face-to-face interactions, social or business connections, associations, or ad-hoc presentations.
    • Turning trusted relationships into business relationships and strengthening existing ones by increasing current service.
    • Mining existing client bases to identify marketing gaps and sales opportunities within the middle-high and affluent market.
    • Structuring and implementing focused campaigns with new or existing clients in the defined market.
    • Requesting active and ongoing leads and referrals from others.

    The role also involves:

    • Client consultations and sales, ensuring all interactions are compliant in terms of disclosures and advice given.
    • Conducting comprehensive fact-finding with each client, documenting findings, and conducting financial needs analyses using relevant e-tools and systems.
    • Providing sound personal financial planning advice and presenting financial solutions to clients in a professional and competent manner.

    Additionally, the role requires:

    • Ensuring all client interactions are ethical, courteous, and professional.
    • Fostering excellent, value-added service to clients to prevent them from seeking competitor products or services.
    • Continuously learning about knowledge, skills, and market/industry issues to effectively service clients.

    Qualifications and Experience

    The ideal candidate should possess a Grade 12 certificate and have successfully completed the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS) 'Fit and Proper' requirements and Regulatory Examination if registered with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) for more than 24 months.

    Knowledge and Skills

    The successful candidate will require:
