    Description

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced and detail-orientated Procurement Manager to join our Finance team based in Sandton, Johannesburg. The main responsibilities of the role are for sourcing, contracting, cost containment, BBB-EE scorecard management, supplier development and stakeholder management. Manage all procurement related functions by developing metrics and reports ensuring that cost saving control targets are achieved.

    Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or Procurement or Logistics is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 – 10 years' work experience in procurement and supply chain management
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Procurement Manager leading staff.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Supplier Development and preferential procurement element in BBBEE codes.
  • Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, and execute procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Lead development and execution of Sourcing Strategies
  • Manage procurement processes and ensure reduction in overall procurement cost.
  • Lead specific major sourcing initiatives or elements, which involve a high degree of strategic and/or business risk and value.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiating favourable contracts and terms, resulting in improved service delivery and cost saving.
  • Ensure a high level of performance through monitoring of service providers and suppliers turnaround times, quality of work and client service.
  • Monitor and work closely with Finance to ensure timely payment of service providers.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Create monitoring systems or programs to detect problems as early as possible.
  • Develop and manage procurement budgets, ensuring that cost savings targets are met.
  • Develop and manage policies and processes to support procurement activities and processes in the business.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and best practices.
  • Establish a systematic process for identifying and assessing risks associated with procurement activities.
  • Ensure effective risk governance is in place to properly manage potential risks throughout the procurement process.
  • Manage the BEE requirements for preferential procurement and Enterprise Supplier Development (ESD) to achieve the B-BBEE scorecard objectives.
  • Ensure appropriate engagement with Legal team and seek legal input on all contracts.
  • Create a risk register for procurement activities and a contingency plan detailing mitigation and corrective actions.
  • Manage and ensure that all assets in the organization are controlled appropriately, adequate reporting of all stock on hand is done, stock counts are performed, and appropriate registers kept for all assets. Set up an efficient control environment to ensure safeguarding of assets and overall reporting is done timeously accurately and is valid.
  • Ensure effective supplier management throughout the sourcing life cycle and ensure that service level agreements are met.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supplier's service providers and all stakeholders.
  • Manage and measure Service Provider performance and compile monthly suppliers reports for management.
  • Work collaboratively and partner with stakeholders to ensure company requirements are met.
  • Oversee the activities of the team to ensure effective delivery of business outcomes.
  • Develop a high performing team by embedding formal performance management process and coaching.
  • Encourage frequent knowledge sharing between team members.
  • Determine and analyze development needs for the team and ensure that identified training requirements are budgeted for and executed.
  • Interview and recruit new members of the team, including determining appropriate compensation levels with input from Human Resources.
  • Create effective workforce and recruitment demand plans to ensure that current and future business requirements can be met.
  • When required, initiate disciplinary processes for team members calling on support from Human Resources when required.
  • Resolve grievances raised by team members and escalate only if required.
  • Address poor performance of any team member through the formal Performance improvement program and ensure that continued poor performance is appropriately dealt with.
  • Motivate team members and ensure that their efforts are recognized.
