Experience & Qualifications:

- ±10 years experience working in a heavy engineering manufacturing environment.

  • Capable of interpreting drawings.
  • Commercial trailer experience will be very advantageous.
  • Relevant welding qualifications or certifications related to ISO/SANAS 17020.
  • Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) experience very advantageous.

Responsibilities:


  • Reports to top management only.
  • Inspect welding in main production line and repairs division.
  • Confirm trailers are built as per drawing. Components fitted correctly etc.
  • Enforce quality.
  • Interpret drawings.
  • Enforce SHEQ objectives.
  • Capturing of daily data metrics.
  • Management of all relevant documentation.
  • Liaise with managers to ensure problems are sorted out immediately.

Qualities/Skills:


  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (word, excel, outlook).
  • Knowledge of ERP software advantageous.
  • Good communication & people skills.
  • Identifying problems and implement preventative measures.
  • Being able to develop good working relationships and trust with various teams.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and be very detail oriented.
  • Working well with many different departments.
  • Always keeping the enduser/customer in mind.
  • Being results and deadline driven.
  • Knowledge of steel working and related functions.
  • Knowledge of how to read drawings.
