RPO Recruitment is currently representing a leading mining company in North West, who is seeking a skilled Safety Officer to join their team.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Conduct routine safety inspections and risk assessments
  • Implement and maintain safety management systems and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, and provide detailed reports
  • Deliver safety training and awareness programs to employees
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to safety protocols

Requirements:


  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Degree/Diploma in Risk Management or related field
  • SAMTRAC/COMSOC 1&2 qualification is essential
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the mining industry
  • Experience in investigation, inspection & reporting
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a highpressure environment
