    Description

    MAC Consulting is hiring for a Principal Consultant with expert knowledge of procurement and supply chain. This individual will be responsible for general consulting to deliver across a range of Business Performance projects.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support the sales process and develop proposals.
    • Build client and industry knowledge.
    • Conduct a comprehensive category analysis of spend data, market trends, supplier performance, and demand patterns within each procurement category to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
    • Analyse existing procurement processes, workflows, and systems to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
    • Recommend and implement process redesign initiatives to streamline operations, enhance productivity, and optimize resource utilisation.
    • Develop supplier segmentation strategies based on criticality, risk, and strategic importance.
    • Assist in negotiating supplier contracts, terms, and service level agreements (SLAs) to optimize value and mitigate risks.
    • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to identify cost-saving opportunities, optimize supplier relationships, and drive value for the client.
    • Develop risk management strategies, contingency plans, and compliance frameworks to ensure adherence to legal, ethical, and corporate governance standards.
    • Support project initiation and design project implementation, including project management aspects such as time, cost, quality, and delivery.
    • Conduct contract management and supplier rationalisation.
    • Demonstrate core consulting skills.
    • Conduct ad-hoc research for projects or business needs.


    Requirements

    • At least 8-10 years in management consulting.
    • In-depth experience working on procurement practices.
    • Bachelor's degree is a minimum requirement.
    • Postgraduate (Honours level), preferred. MBA, optional.
    • Analytical skills are essential for interpreting procurement data, identifying insights, and making informed decisions.
    • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
    • Ability to engage and build impactful relationships.
    • Strong human-cantered approach and soft skills.
