    Job Summary

    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Supply Planner to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will be based at our UPD Cape Town (Montague Gardens Distribution Centre) location and report to the Central Replenishment Manager.

    The primary objective of this role is to ensure the timely and efficient replenishment of pharmaceutical products to meet customer demand while minimizing inventory costs and maximizing service levels.

    Key Responsibilities

    As a Junior Supply Planner, your key responsibilities will include:

    1. Inventory Management: Utilize inventory management software and tools to monitor inventory levels and forecast demand for products. Analyze sales data, historical trends, and market conditions to ensure accurate demand forecasts. Determine optimal inventory levels and reorder points to prevent stockouts while minimizing excess inventory.
    2. Order Processing: Generate purchase orders and replenishment requests based on demand forecasts and inventory policies. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products. Monitor order status and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues or delays. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to optimize service levels. Collaborate with suppliers to address supply chain challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.
    3. Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as fill rate, inventory turnover, and stockout rate to assess replenishment performance. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize inventory management processes and enhance supply chain efficiency.
    4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with buying, operations, and logistics teams to align replenishment plans with sales forecasts, promotional activities, and distribution requirements. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on inventory strategies and priorities.

    Requirements

    To be considered for this role, you should have:

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Math, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
    • At least 3 years of experience in inventory management, demand planning, or replenishment in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
    • Proven track record of managing a portfolio of products in inventory management, demand planning, or replenishment.
    • Experience with Demand Planning or Supply Planning software preferred.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
