    About the Role
    As a Senior Quantity Surveyor at The-Recruiter, you will play a key part in ensuring that our construction projects are delivered on time and within budget. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned quantity surveyor to take on new challenges and contribute to the success of our organization.

    Key Responsibilities:
    - Prepare detailed cost analyses based on architectural drawings, engineering estimates, materials required, and labour involved.
    - Develop cost plans that enable design teams to produce practical designs for construction projects, involving collaboration with architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
    - Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
    - Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors and negotiate where necessary
    - Oversee all stages of projects within predetermined budgets and expenditure limits.
    - Monitor and track project progress, responsible for measuring and valuing variations in work during the contract, agreeing interim payments, and final accounts.
    - Work as part of a team to ensure client requirements are met.
    - Perform monthly valuations of work in progress, forecasting final costs and sales.
    - Provide expert advice to project staff on commercial and contractual matters, including reviewing and drafting correspondence.
    - Conduct commercial vetting of sub-contractor tenders and contracts.
    - Certify sub-contractor monthly valuations and final accounts.
    - Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    - Communicate regularly with project staff and specialist subcontractors to maintain commercial controls.
    - Manage and create accurate formal reports according to business timetables.
    - Keep abreast of commercial information related to projects, including labour, material, and subcontractor cost forecasting, to ensure adherence to budgets.
    - Supply relevant information to the General Manager or Managing Director for review at designated intervals.
    - Support Project Manager and/or Managing Director with various tasks as needed.

    Requirements
    - Possess strong commercial acumen, numerical skills, and risk management abilities, with accuracy in forecasting costs and sales.
    - Multitasking, self-motivated, energetic team player with flexibility and adaptability in work approach.
    - Exhibit good practical organizational skills, resource planning, and programme scheduling capabilities.
    - Ability to provide both summarized and detailed reports on current activities.
    - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project software, as well as Construction Costing Software ('Candy').
    - Demonstrable experience in construction contracts.
    - Professional appearance and demeanor.
    - Strong command of written and spoken English language.
    - Customer-focused individual with excellent communication and motivational skills, capable of interacting with individuals across various levels.

    Education and Training
    - Hold a 4-year full-time or 5-year part-time B.Sc (QS) university degree or equivalent qualifications.
    - Alternatively, possess a 3-year University of Technology diploma advancing to a B-Tech degree after additional study.

    Work Experience
    - Minimum 5 years of quantity surveying experience within the construction industry, preferably in mechanical or electrical contracting organizations.

    Salary: R750,000 - R1,200,000 per annum.
