    Academic Programme Leader: School of Public Administration

    Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified Academic Programme Leader to lead our School of Public Administration.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Develop and implement effective programme management strategies in line with MANCOSA's vision, mission, and strategy.
    2. Coordinate the development and continuous improvement of teaching and learning materials and assessment strategies.
    3. Monitor student progress and engagement through a tracking system.
    4. Collaborate with Institutional Planning to develop programme plans and manage academic administrators.
    5. Liaise with academic administrators to ensure academic readiness for each semester.
    6. Create and monitor academic administrators' progress trackers.
    7. Assist with the recruitment and appointment of suitable academic staff.
    8. Facilitate webinars and coordinate community engagement initiatives.
    9. Plan and coordinate delivery of academic events for internal and external staff.
    10. Align students with programme-specific career guidance in collaboration with the Career Centre.
    11. Engage with stakeholders to request information on student assessment performance.
    12. Assist with programme benchmarking and development of new programmes within the school.
    13. Identify and intervene for students at risk.
    14. Review and update module content.
    15. Coordinate data and reports for quality assurance efforts.

    Requirements

    • Postgraduate degree specialising in Public Administration (NQF Level 8) or studying towards Masters in Public Administration.

    Essential Experience

    • Minimum 2 years' experience in higher education/academic environment.

    Desirable Experience and Skills

    • High-quality academic knowledge and expertise in Public Administration.
    • Ability to provide guidance in the evolving education spectrum.
    • Supporting and cooperating with colleagues.
    • Creating and conceptualizing innovative solutions.
    • Organizing and coordinating academic events.
    • Adapting and coping with changing circumstances.
    • Reporting and analysis skills.
    • Digital literacy and proficiency in relevant software.

    Advantages

    • Relevant experience in Public Administration working experience.
    • Minimum 2 years' experience in Learner Management System administration/coordination.
