We're hiring a
Category Marketing Manager for one of our leading seed brands in South Africa, Pannar You will be responsible for developing and implementing product / portfolio strategies, life cycle management among various crops, based on customer needs and regional asset portfolios to maximize sales, market share, and profit margins for the products; creating tactical implementations of the marketing plan, positioning and demand planning for new product launches and for existing products.

As a member of the Commercial Unit team, you will be responsible for coordinating, developing and implementing all marketing activities of the Pannar brand, in close liaison with the leadership team


Your challenge

  • Analyze the seed market and its various market segments, grower and competitor insights, product feedback and competitive dynamics to identify market trends, threats or new business opportunities that may impact on customer needs.
  • Develop and implement product strategies, managing projects, andproduct portfolio and life cycle planning of the portfolio in close relationship with the Commercial unit manager and in accordance with local business strategies.
  • Lead cross functional Local Product Concept Teams to define new project requirements, to build business case, to describe strategic priorities, define product attributes, to design value proposition and create sales argumentation.
  • Determine product prices and marketing programmes based on local guidance, market research and anticipated demand.
  • Develop annual marketing plans for the product portfolio and monitor, and track performance versus plan (prices and volumes vs PO, project stage reviews), investigate significant deviations, and recommend corrective action as necessary.

Qualifications:

To Grow What Matters, You Will Need:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Agribusiness industry and in a commercial function;
  • Strong knowledge of the seed market and the associated product portfolio, a good understanding of operational planning and product development processes.
  • Experience in successfully creating, launching and managing brands.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and English, and a good understanding of Afrikaans
  • Strong analytical skills in market research, including economic analysis.
