    Description

    Air Freight Specialist Role

    Our company, a global logistics provider, seeks an Air Freight Specialist to manage air freight operations. This includes developing strategies to grow the business, improve efficiency and profitability, and leading a team of air freight professionals. The specialist will work closely with customers to understand their needs.

    Main Responsibilities

    The key areas of responsibility for this role are:

    • Developing and promoting the air freight product.
    • Designing and implementing strategies to increase air freight business volumes.
    • Creating and executing plans to enhance air freight operation efficiency and profitability.
    • Managing a team of air freight staff, including agents, supervisors, and clerks.
    • Collaborating with customers to identify their requirements and ensuring they are met.
    • Negotiating rates and contracts with airlines.
    • Monitoring and controlling air freight shipments to guarantee timely delivery and quality.
    • Complying with relevant laws and regulations.
    • Preparing budgets, sales plans, and implementing management sales strategies.
    • Staying up-to-date on industry trends and developments.

    Required Experience and Qualifications

    Candidates should have the following qualifications:

    • Matriculation or equivalent education.
    • At least 6 years of experience in air freight.
    • At least 5 years' experience in a management position.
    • In-depth knowledge of the air freight industry is essential.
    • Experience in customer management.
    • Bonus points for experience with Cargo wise.
    • Established connections with major airlines are crucial.
    • A well-established customer base and extensive network in the air freight market.
