Our client is seeking a Millwright to join their team, based in East London.

Minimum Requirements:-

• Matric + Millwright Trade Test
• Minimum 3-5 years plant maintenance experience in an automated process environment
• Basic Health and Safety knowledge
• PLC fault finding skills
• Ability to perform various types of welding i.e. ARC, Tig, etc.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and electrical drawings
• Effective time management skills
• Good working knowledge of single phase and 3-phase electrical equipment, motor controls and general electrical installations
• Thorough understanding of different type of sensors, controllers, VSDs and Ethernet system
• Practical knowledge of chain drive systems, hoisting systems, and roller conveyor systems
• Ability to build and repair electrical and pneumatic circuits
• Good communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime as per operational requirements
• Own reliable transport

Duties:-

• Performing routine, planned and breakdown maintenance on machines
• Identifying & responding to potential problems and safety hazards
• Ensuring scheduled maintenance plan is adhered to and timeously completed
• Timeous response to electrical/mechanical breakdowns, quick diagnoses of problems and quick execution of solutions in order to reduce down time
• Maintaining critical spares for the various machines, i.e. PLCs, pumps, drives, etc.
• Ensuring all maintenance work and repairs are in line with the company's standards and SAN standards
• Carrying out administrative work associated with plant maintenance i.e. opening and closing CMMS work orders, updating daily logs, etc.
• Building basic steel structures
• Training apprentices
• Ensuring 5S System (house keeping) and safe working standards are adhered to at all times by the maintenance team
