    Job Title: Inspector/Sampler

    Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Inspector/Sampler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing inspections and sampling of agricultural products and the fishing industry, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results.

    Description:
    We are looking for an experienced and skilled Inspector/Sampler to perform a variety of tasks, including:
    • Performing daily operational activities under the guidance of senior inspectors or operations supervisors.
    • Attending to sampling and inspections at various locations around St. Helena Bay, Western Cape, South Africa.
    • Witnessing fumigation of containers and recording accurate information.
    • Ensuring all correct, clean and sanitized equipment and consumables are taken for respective inspections.
    • Requesting necessary documents and arranging equipment, sample labels, etc. prior to attending on site.
    • Performing shore tank sampling as requested by clients and in accordance with GAFTA/FOSFA requirements.
    • Performing cleanliness and suitability inspections of containers and Flexi tanks as required.

    Responsibilities:
    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
    • Performing inspections and sampling of agricultural products and the fishing industry.
    • Reporting accurate and timely results of inspections and sampling.
    • Ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
    • Coordinating with senior inspectors, administrators, operations supervisors, and branch managers as required.
    • Reporting any faulty or non-functioning equipment to immediate managers.
    • Cessation of use of equipment deemed to constitute a safety hazard.
    • Implementation and maintenance of the quality system/procedures.

    Qualifications:
    The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
    • Minimum grade 12/Matric with mathematics and science as subjects.
    • Valid driver's license (minimum code 08).
    • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, etc.).
    • Experience in inspection, sampling of agricultural products and the fishing industry.

    Skills:
    The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
    • Good problem-solving skills.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with various personalities.
    • Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
    • Works well under pressure and works odd hours from time to time.

    Working Conditions:
    The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, often under tight deadlines. They will also be required to travel extensively throughout South Africa and may be required to work long hours, weekends, and public holidays.
