To safely maintain, repair, set up, adjust and operate equipment and/or machinery in the processing and packaging of products within specified parameters and in accordance with the MECP framework and standards and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure plant availability and product quality.

• Complete equipment/parts requisition to advise the stores about equipment/parts used
• Plan execution of job card and to adjust, inspect and repair equipment to prevent future breakdowns, to maintain equipment in maximum operating condition and to prevent losses.
• Adhere to and implement safety regulations and procedures in accordance with OHS act so that a safe and clean working environment is maintained
• Actively develop oneself to achieve career goals and to optimize individual and team performance/ productivity.
• Understand and utilize computerized maintenance management system
• Understand and complete MECP activities as required

• Manufacturing
• Know the types of materials to use in a modification, breakdown or project
• Assesses wear and tear on materials to prevent future breakdowns
• Understands relationships between various material types, product types and environmental conditions
• Applies basic knowledge of electrical/mechanical principles during breakdowns, maintenance of machines and daily operation of the manufacturing process
• Applies welding knowledge and skill during breakdowns, projects, modifications and maintenance
• Monitors condition of pneumatic and hydraulic systems to prevent breakdowns
• Stays current on latest technological developments

• Understands the differences of manufacturing principles and processes relevant to Plant
• Looks at ways to improve effectiveness of manufacturing processes
• Explains relationship between product and manufacturing processes to team members
• Understands the relationship between manufacturing processes, manufacturing support information and processes as well as engineering services

• Uses lockout system during breakdowns, modifications and maintenance procedures
• Restricted access to electrical panels during any technical work in progress
• Understands electrical and mechanical installation rules and procedures
• Keeps working area clean, hygienic and safe
