What will you do?

Manages the region and ensures development of sales to achieve national sales volumes. Responsible for promoting growth and profitability. Identifies and develop new markets, customers, and value-added marketing for higher net sales revenues. Manages and coordinates technical support to brokers during marketing of crop insurance in the region. Approves the pricing rate mandate for crop insurance policies.

Building relationships with brokers and Mega Farmers. Compile sales and underwriting action plans/strategy and report back on progress during the sales period.


The strategic focus areas:


  • Development and implementation of strategy for crop insurance within the region.
  • High level coordination to support sales and identify new business opportunities in the region.
  • Promote and maintain internal and external relationships with all the stakeholders.
  • High level support to strategic brokers to expand business. What will make you successful in this role?
Marketing

Manage high level marketing and co-ordinate efforts of Area Managers in this regard, to promote sales in respect of Crop insurance to accredited Brokers and Agri Businesses.

Compile a detailed strategy and action plans to grow the business.
Addressing Farmers meetings in regard to crop insurance products available.
Liaise with managers of Brokers agencies and Agri Businesses to identify new
opportunities and strengthen existing relationships.

Coordinate and manage general administration with regards to crop insurance, support to brokers and enquiries from Santam Agriculture Head office.

Cross selling of asset and crop insurance.

Relationship Building

Maintain internal and external relationships to ensure long-term sustainable partnerships with clients, brokers and managers of Broker agencies and Agri Businesses for the region.

Develop and coordinate broker relationship across the Santam Group.
Support to the Relationship managers to ensure a functional area.
Track progress of service requirement on a regular basis.
Manage SLA and CSI requirements.
To manage the Management Expenses within the region.

Broker Practice
Assist in helping brokers to build a more successful business.
Training and support to brokers in the administration and issuing of crop insurance.
Approval and managing Input cost Applications.
Manage outstanding Premiums.
Managing Marketing initiatives and budget within the Region.

Broker/Market development
Identify and target new prospective profitable business.
Seek and acquire competitor's business.
Identify and capitalize on new markets.
Ensure high quality Client service to Clients and Brokers. Qualification and Experience

Degree or Diploma and the required Certification with 5 to 7 years related experience.
Experience in people management will be an advantage. Knowledge and Skills

Manages client and broker relationships and promote crop insurance.
Grow the Santam agriculture book.
Reporting.
