Summary of the role and role holder

  • Plays a key role in defining and leading the Health and Safety culture of the business.
  • Responsible for the execution of the sales and marketing strategies to ensure the revenue and profitability of the business is maintained/exceeded in line with budget.
  • Responsible for identifying revenue growth opportunities through market intelligence, innovation, and aligning the
- business with group product platform initiatives.


Role Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Determines channel positioning by market sector, to ensure key strategic initiatives remain relevant and meaningful to business performance.
  • Maintains functional alignment between, sales, marketing, product management and specification.
  • Responsible for taking ownership of and managing customer trading agreements supported by the sales team and the
  • Country Manger where appropriate.
  • Responsible for taking ownership of and managing senior customer and key stakeholder relationships supported by the Country Manager when appropriate.
  • Ensures the product portfolio remains relevant to market demand and drives innovation through the relevant market channels.
  • Ensures marketing and specification collateral remains relevant and promotes brand awareness across all sectors.
  • Plays a supporting role with Credit Management to ensure mínimal financial risk of trading accounts.
  • Ensure departmental costs are controlled in line with or below budget.
  • Manage team performance, motivate, set challenging goals and objectives for the team, mentor and develop direct and indirect reports and ensure any underperformance is addressed immediately.
  • Ensure CRM compliance

    Inherent Requirements

Education

  • Degree, preferably in a business or construction related discipline, or alternatively proven and successful track record and experience in a similar senior sales manager role.

Core / Functional skills (IT, system experience, etc)

  • Excellent numeracy and written skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills capable of developing strong relationships at all levels of an organisation, and with different types of organisations. Building teamspirit and keeping morale and motivation.
  • Good analytical skills understands performance reporting and what it means for his/her everyday activities. Financial modelling and scenario planning
  • Good influencing skills self confident, comfortable working within a matrix organisation and coordinating others to achieve objectives; sound understanding of key account management principles.
  • Very organised, structured and rigorous; is able to know instantly the status of multiple different projects and activities.
  • Selfstarter capable of working on own initiative with mínimal direction, but also a good team player.
  • Able to spend nights away from home including a flexible approach, often required to work outside 'normal' office hours

Experience

  • Several years' experience operating at a senior management level in a market characterised by sales through distribution and downstream demand generation.
  • A demonstrable ability to manage change and change management experience.
  • Can demonstrate capability to lead and manage teams, projects, customers and internal stakeholders.

What Qualification

  • Business or Construction related discipline
