Media Centre Assistant - Johannesburg, South Africa - ADvTECH

The ADvTECH Schools Division leads the private sector in the field of education, contributing meaningfully towards the sustainable development of human capacity in South Africa.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the media centre is neat and organised at all times
- Control the organisation and management of library books
- Control stock levels of media centre resources and books
- Control the use of library books by pupils
- Ensure that library books are covered and kept in good condition, including the repair of books
- Ensure the safe storage and usage of media centre computers
- Control the use of media centre computers by pupils
- Resource and budget for media centre purchases
- Assist students with finding resources, and the appropriate use of library books
- Promotes the use of the school media centre and library
- Work in conjunction with school leadership and language departments to promote reading
- Assists with management and covering of school textbooks.
Competencies/Skills/Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with colleagues and pupils
- Energetic, selfmotivated and able to use own initiative;
- Good organisational and administrative skills;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with staff and pupils
Qualifications:
Minimum requirement is a grade 12
Experience:
Working in a media centre/library as well as experience in a school environment
