A career opportunity exists for a
Shipping Clerk on a permanent basis to join our
NATIONAL BRANDS LIMITED, South Beach (Durban) Tea Factory.

The role will be reporting to the Shipping Controller.


Key Performance Areas:


  • Perform SAP Stock Transport Order (STO) for NBL and Ciro Sites (also assist with wheat/machinery spares)
  • Ensure the STO process is completed and communicated to sites timeously (NBL & CIRO)
  • Follow up on stock receipts if not done on time (All sites)
  • Upload shipping documents (VAT pack) to STO
  • Perform SAP Stock Transport Order (STO) for overborder road teas (update spreadsheet from suppliers for teas in transit)
  • Ensure customs bill of entries and stamped port health documents are sent to the relevant site per shipment
  • Reconcile 7 & 30day vendor accounts
  • Support the accounts payable team with freight and 3rd party invoices for payment
  • Assist the accounts payable team to close old vendor conditions on SAP
  • Assist accounts payable team with regular checks on Credacc portal to resolve invoice processing/payment queries
  • Verify and approve Transporters POD's for payment
  • Input the POD number on the system
  • Arrange to book of port health inspection at Durban Tea factory / Bidvest (storage)
  • Assist with Incoterm Register
  • Maintain vendor contact details via the prescribed vendor change workflow
  • Reconcile National Port Authority & Transporter accounts
  • Compliance with audit and yearend requirements by providing necessary supporting documentation and commentary for relevant sites when required
  • Verify intake notes from Bidvest for tea shipments (Container number, batch, and quantity) and send approved intake note to RMS to receipt the stock in Bidvest location 1010
  • Follow up on intake note receipt if not done in a day or two by RMS
  • Send out monthly VAT recons to tax department (NBL & 3rd party clearance)
  • Processing of Cargo dues on the Transnet OTC system
  • Arrange financial yearend GIT reports for Road teas
  • Send out a weekly forecast every Friday afternoon if required for the following weeks' payments (MSC / 3rd party clearance as they are 7day accounts)
  • Arrange clearing instructions when required & input file onto the system
  • Assist with calloff instructions for the stock from storage facilities & track/assist until delivered
  • Assist with processing of forex payments & filing when required
  • Assist team with any tracking or reports required
  • Filing CIRO STO's
  • Filling monthly account invoices
  • Filing of Transporter PODs
  • Finalizing and closing shipment files as per our filing procedure

Experience Required:


  • 1 3 years experience in import and export customs clearance/logistics
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint)
  • SAP is essential

Qualifications:


  • Matric with Maths is essential
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in logistics imports and exports will be advantageous

Additional:
