Lodge Manager Job Description

Our Luxury Lodge client is seeking a dynamic Lodge Manager to join their team in a beautiful location near Ladysmith, KZN.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to lead a well-established Game Lodge, managing all operations and delivering an unforgettable guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all staff, including monthly wages, leave recording, and staff discipline.
• Coordinate and implement staff training and development programs.
• Anticipate and facilitate guest needs to enhance their experience.
• Regularly inspect the lodge to maintain high standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
• Oversee property requirements, including vehicles, road maintenance, and solar systems.
• Prepare monthly reports for non-resident owners/executive members.
• Provide hands-on guest relations, assistance, and guidance.
• Manage the Rooms Division, ensuring Housekeeping and F&B departments meet high standards.

Requirements

• At least 5 years' experience in a similar position in a 4 to 5-star bush lodge.
• Mature, well-presented person with a passion for hospitality.
• Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken.
• Well-developed problem-solving skills and strong leadership abilities.
• Computer literacy and ability to manage stock and equipment.
• Hosting experience and ability to work within budgets.
• Good negotiation skills and knowledge of relevant labour laws.
• Guest-centric approach with high standards of service.
• Stable employment history with contactable references.
