    Description

    Job Title: External Sales Representative

    We are seeking an experienced External Sales Representative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new sales prospects, managing existing clients, and assisting the company in growing its presence in the industry.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Sell products by establishing contact with potential customers
    • Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers through provision of support, information, and guidance
    • Recommend solutions tailored to customers' needs
    • Visit and quote customers to ensure accurate pricing and product selection
    • Follow up on quotations to convert leads into sales
    • P Prepare detailed reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing customer data
    • Ensure quality service delivery by enforcing company standards and policies
    • Invoice customers and manage stock levels to meet demand
    • Perform deliveries as required and follow up on customer backorders
    • Complete customer planning and visits according to schedule
    • Conduct cold calls to expand the customer base
    • Arrange and conduct demonstrations of welding machines
    • Adhere to company vehicle maintenance schedules and report any issues to management
    • Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle
    • Attend to all job-related administration tasks
    • Perform ad-hoc duties assigned by management
    • Comply with the company's Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures
    • Achieve monthly targets and Gross Profit (GP) as discussed with management and outlined in the contract

    Requirements:

    • Matric qualification (minimum)
    • Tertiary qualification advantageous
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in sales or related field
    • Valid Code 8 driver's license
    • Proven ability to work with customers and maintain positive relationships
    • Sales experience, particularly in the welding industry
    • Problem-solving skills and adaptability
    • Ability to plan routes and visit customers efficiently
    • Effective time management

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Familiarity with welding machines, consumables, and equipment
    • Knowledge of gas and gas cutting equipment
    • Power tools and lifting equipment proficiency
    • Generator and abrasives operation
    • Spares and hand tool familiarity
    • Plasma system and compressor operation
