Safety Officer
Our client, a blue chip Manufacturing Company based in Vanderbijlpark has a vacancy for a experienced Safety Officer with the following:
Seeking a Safety Officer to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines. Your primary role will be advising on measures to minimize hazards and maintain a safe working environment. Vigilance in identifying violations is crucial.

Qualification & Experience

Grade 12

-
Diploma in Safety Management / SAMTRAC
-
Must have 5 + years heavy engineering manufacturing experience

Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
Supporting the development of OHS policies and programs
Advising and instructing on various safetyrelated topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.)
Conducting risk assessment and enforcing preventative measures
Meeting legal safety standards and cultivates a culture of prioritizing health and safety.
Support the development of OHS policies and programs

Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation
Initiate and organize OHS training of employees and executives
Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or nonconformity (e.g. not using protective equipment)
Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker's compensation claims
Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management
