Ward Clerk Vacancy

We are seeking a responsible and organized individual to fill the position of Ward Clerk at Life Kingsbury Hospital, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Unit Manager, Surgical 1.

Critical Responsibilities

• This is a shift work position that includes working weekends, night duty, and public holidays as needed.
• The incumbent will be accountable for accurately recording all patient admissions to the hospital.
• Main duties include:
• Performing general administration tasks involved in patient admission, including filing and billing assistance.
• Admitting patients onto Impilo.
• Operating the Switchboard.
• Handling cash transactions and being responsible for collecting co-payments on admission.
• Liaising with medical aids to obtain authorization for admission.

Requirements

• Matric certification
• Proficiency in MS Office, Impilo, and Imeds software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience in customer-facing roles
• Familiarity with hospital procedures and medical terminology
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
