    Description

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    · Matriculationcertificate (or the equivalent)

    · Additionallanguage is an added advantage (preferably European)

    · Excellent communicationskills both verbal and written

    · Excellent commandof the English language

    · Preferably HotelSchool Diploma or related

    · Minimum 2 years'experience in a similar role

    · Experience withina 4 or 5 star environment will be advantageous

    PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

    · Must be wellgroomed, confident, reliable, courteous and flexible

    · Excellentplanning and organisational skills

    · Ability to work in a team and independently

    · Deadline driven, ability to multi-task and work underpressure

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    · Ensure a high level of productknowledge of The Oyster Box, the daily happenings in the hotel as well as thelocal area

    · All customer queries andrequests are to be handled in a polite and efficient manner thereby maintaininga consistently high level of customer service

    · Ensure that a high level ofcommunication and liaison is maintained between Front Office and all otherdepartments within the hotel

    · A good working relationship withthe concierge team is especially important with regards to guest requests suchas organizing cakes, arranging restaurant reservations, excursions, tours,etc.

    · Make certain that the FrontOffice Manager and the Shift Managers are kept fully aware of any relevantfeedback from either the customer or other departments

    · Report any unusual occurrencesor requests to the Manager on Duty in Front Office to ensure a prompt response

    · Adopt a sales attitude at all times and maintain anawareness if all sales opportunities within the hotel to maximize room salesand revenue for the hotel

    · Ability to work with computer softwareprogrammes such as Excel and Word, as well as hotel specific programmes such asOpera

    · Meet all arrival guests, rooming of guests andinteracting with guests in all hotel areas
