Senior Operations Manager

R1.3m (Neg) plus bonus

Cape Town

A unique career opportunity has arisen with a leading investment group in the private equity space.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to join our high-performing team, who make primary and secondary private equity investments in buyout, growth and venture capital funds across the USA, Europe and Asia.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare comprehensive reports and supporting documentation for board meetings.
Contribute to creating a world-class operating environment for our IPE business by performing key reporting functions, including stakeholder reports, IC valuations reports, investment managers reports, banking reports, etc.
Establish new sub-funds and products.
Liaise with critical stakeholders such as lawyers, bankers, administrators, auditors, and investment managers.
Provide recommendations on capital calls, cash statements review, and make informed cash management decisions.
Conduct thorough back-office reporting reviews.
Confirm net asset value with the investment manager.
Prepare advisory fee calculation reviews and arrange invoices.
Review financial statements and respond to audit queries.
Negotiate credit facility renewals.
Address FATCA / CRS update requests from portfolio funds.
Prepare Subscription documents for all new portfolio funds.
Process tax requests from Group Tax.
Update sub-fund prospectuses.
Review and allocate invoices between sub-funds.

Requirements:

Hold a CA/SA or relevant degree with at least 10 years of experience in private markets or financial services.
Prior experience working in middle office Investment banking, asset management, or private equity finance environments would be beneficial.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks independently.
Exhibit a strong cultural fit – partnership, humility, perspective, respect.
Display good technical ability, specifically the ability to understand complexities and nuances around international private equity investments and portfolios.
