Logistics Support Services is a support function to the AVI Group for distribution purposes. LSS has Distribution Centres located in Isando, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town, and East London. The Distribution Centres are responsible for the distribution of all National Brands products i.e., Biscuits, Snacks, Coffee, etc.


Logistics Support Services seeks an honest, trustworthy, and experienced
Receiving Supervisor to take on the responsibility at Redhill Distribution Centre to ensure the execution and supervision of duties within the Receiving Department. To ensure that vehicles are off loaded and stocks checked and receipted as per departmental procedure. This role will be based in
Durban.**

Job Specification:


Key Performance Areas:


Receiving Functions:


  • Prioritize offloading.
  • Inbound vehicles to be off loaded on time.
  • Turnaround of shuttle vehicles to ensure all agreed loads with factories are achieved.
  • Investigate discrepancies on the security check.
  • Manage the Receiving staff and train backups for the department.
  • Adhere to Departmental Procedures.
  • Reporting on shortages & damages.
  • Effective shuttle vehicle utilization
  • Manage the shuttle vehicle trip sheets & vehicle turnaround times.
  • Pallet Control and returning excess pallets to CHEP.
  • Report on any delays at the Factories / D.C
  • Identify cost savings within the department.
  • Align the department with the site QMS/Risk and Safety procedures.
  • Support learning and continuous improvement within the department
  • Standby during peak seasons when department operates 24 hours.
  • Managing casual labor to an acceptable level

Administration

  • Emailing daily activity reports to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure that the daily documentation are filed.
  • Ensure compliance to receiving procedure.
  • Assist in all aspects of receiving of stock.
  • Managing the departments time and attendance system
  • Consult with the factories on number of loads that is required for shuttling.
  • Receipting Of Inbound Stocks in SAP
  • Receipting and Issuing of CHEP pallets on CHEP Portfolio.
  • Approving weekly casual labor cost and requesting purchase orders for such approvals.
  • Managing staff leave plans.
  • Manage staff leave to ensure leave balance is an acceptable leave balance level.

Reporting

  • Compiling/forwarding of relevant management information on a daily basis.
  • Report any deviations to the Distribution Centre Manager.

Minimum Requirements:


Experience:


  • Warehouse experience.
  • Strong Supervisory skills
  • Logistics coordination experience

Qualifications:


  • Grade 12 or equivalent

Additional Requirements:


  • Computer literate
  • MS Office
  • SAP
  • Code 08 drivers license with own vehicle
