- Managing projects across their life cycle, ensuring delivery within approved scope, time, and budget
- Defining project scopes and objectives, and developing project business cases with stakeholders
- Developing comprehensive scopes of work and controlling scope changes to minimize project delays
- Developing detailed work breakdown structures, project plans, and budgets, and revising accordingly to meet changing project needs
- Performing project cost control, ensuring monthly cash-flow forecasts comply with accuracy requirements
- Performing quality assurance, planning, and control to ensure projects align with quality policies, procedures, strategies, and objectives
- Tracking project performance against baselines, applying corrective action techniques to manage poor project performance, and compiling monthly progress reports
- Performing risk management to identify, analyze, respond, monitor, and control project risks, limiting project performance impacts
- Compiling and presenting project approval documentation in line with IIP Project Management Methodology across all project phases
- Ensuring project documents and drawings are maintained and stored in the Projects Portfolio Database
- Developing presentations and facilitating projects and progress meetings with stakeholders and committees
- Effectively managing project stakeholders, contractors, external consultants, and service providers to enhance synergies and limit disruptions during the project
- Defining project resource requirements to execute the projects portfolio, managing and developing project resources and teams to achieve project outcomes
- Performing SHE management in line with Site procedures, policies, and strategies to ensure projects are executed safely
- Attending site visits, adjudicating tenders, and compiling/process tender approval documentation
- Ensuring designs and installations comply with relevant engineering codes and site-approved standards to support compliance and consistent, safe, and effectively implemented projects
- Performing supervision activities, managing construction activities, and resolving conflict/disputes
- Conducting value engineering during project phases to ensure project constraints are accommodated and to seek alignment with business strategies
- Continuously improving project methodologies by incorporating value-adding lessons learned and adopting best practices
- Assisting with the 5-year capital plan, capital budgeting process, and prioritization of the project's portfolio with Site, T&I, Maintenance, and Operations Management
- Providing project management assistance to Site and T&I teams to enhance collaboration and achieve strategic objectives
- Providing support to Project Leader to ensure departmental objectives, outcomes, and strategies are achieved
- Coordinating processes to ensure project equipment/assets are placed onto the site maintenance programs and the organization's fixed asset register
- B. Eng or BSc. Eng degree (mandatory)
- Minimum 5 years' role-specific experience in a heavy industry or mining environment (mandatory)
- Minimum 5 years' management/supervisory experience (mandatory)
- Project management qualification (advantageous)
- Working knowledge of a project management methodology (Agile, PMBOK, etc.)
