    Job Summary

    A baker assists the baking team by preparing, baking, and presenting baked goods. This role involves learning baking techniques and maintaining high-quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Baking and Preparation

      • Prepare doughs, batters, fillings, icings, and other components according to recipes and specifications.
      • Measure ingredients accurately to create high-quality baked products.
      • Operate baking equipment safely and efficiently.

    2. Product Quality and Consistency

      • Ensure baked goods meet quality standards for taste, texture, and appearance.
      • Assist in decorating and presenting baked items.
      • Monitor baking times and temperatures for consistent results.

    3. Inventory and Stock Management

      • Maintain inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies.
      • Report low stock levels and assist with inventory replenishment.
      • Properly label and store ingredients and finished products.

    4. Cleaning and Maintenance

      • Maintain a clean and organized work area following sanitation and hygiene standards.
      • Clean baking equipment and work surfaces after use.
      • Assist in routine maintenance and cleaning of ovens and equipment.

    5. Team Collaboration

      • Work closely with senior bakers and kitchen staff to complete production schedules.
      • Assist in coordinating baking activities to meet customer demands.
      • Communicate effectively with team members.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Experience

      • Previous experience in a bakery or food production environment is advantageous.

    • Skills

      • Basic understanding of baking techniques and ingredients.
      • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely.
      • Good organizational and time-management skills.
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
      • Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced bakers.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
    • Capability to lift and carry heavy bags of flour and other baking ingredients.
    • Manual dexterity to operate baking equipment and handle delicate products.

    Work Environment

    • Typically works in a bakery or commercial kitchen setting.
    • Exposure to varying temperatures from ovens and freezers.
    • May require early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
