Job Title: Area Sales Manager

Location: Mpumalanga

The company is seeking a skilled Area Sales Manager to execute the annual sales strategy and plan for allocated area/region.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning:

Execute the annual sales strategy and plan for allocated area/region.
Design and implement tactical and operational plans in order to meet strategic objectives within the allocated area/region.
Regular reporting against department objectives and annual calendar.

Sales - New Hardware Merchants:

Identify opportunities to source new independent and franchise hardware merchants and convert them to the business.
Assist new hardware merchants with the company onboarding process.
Work with internal departments such as Merchant Support and Marketing to ensure that hardware merchant & credit champion profiles are setup, adequate training is provided, and marketing material is dispatched to stores.

Sales - Existing Hardware Merchants:

Develop and maintain good relationships with hardware merchants & credit champions.
Have regular face-to-face meetings with hardware merchants & credit champions to ensure continued and increased business by reviewing and discussing sales performance, identifying and reporting on any operational challenges, and analyzing performance data against budget.
Implement corrective strategies where needed for underperforming hardware merchants & credit champions, dormant hardware merchants & credit champions, and assist in the improvement and optimization of internal processes and policies.

Marketing:

Execution of marketing initiatives within the merchant sales channels in support of meeting sales targets.
Execution of promotional / brand/ and incentive campaigns as set out in the annual sales plan.

People Management:

Lead and manage the external sales function (Internal and External Credit Champions) within the allocated area/region of responsibility.
Provide visible and clear leadership promoting a culture of high-performance standards and customer centricity.
Ensure effective communication and change management, identify training needs, and ensure adequate training and coaching takes place.

Stakeholder Management and Communication:

Share merchant and credit champion monthly performance reports.
Regular progress feedback to line management regarding projects and targets.
Knowledge share with team members and internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

Matric (Grade 12)
3+ years' experience in a sales role
Experience within the hardware sector and/or financial services (loans) will be advantageous
Tertiary qualification in Sales or relevant sales and relationship management experience

Computer Literacy: MS Office (Outlook, Excel)
