Junior Operations Manager Sasol Secunda

Experience, Requirements and Qualifications:


  • PSIRA Grade A Registration and Accreditation
  • Matric certificate (Grade 12)
  • Formal Management Training or relevant tertiary security qualifications
  • No criminal record or any pending cases
  • At least 5 years' experience in midmanagement in the Security industry
  • Exceptional staff management experience
  • Computer literate and proficient on all Microsoft programs
  • Valid driver's license with own reliable transport
  • Medically fit Sasol Synfuels and Mining (Be able to pass medical fitness assessment)
  • Knowledge of business process, function, and acumen
  • Has a good command of the English language both written and verbal.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels are essential.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 quality Management and requirements
  • Must be available to assist in underground mining operations during security emergencies.
  • Will be required to wok Standby as per client roster
  • Residing in Secunda or surrounds or willing to relocate.
  • Must have knowledge of:
  • Labour Relations Act
  • National Bargaining Council for the Private Security Sector
  • Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA)
  • PSIRA: registered and accredited
  • FAMS (Firearm Management System)
  • S.O. Standards
  • Occupational Health & Safety
  • Fleet and logistics
  • National Key Point (Wish)
  • Firearm Competency (Handgun, Shotgun, selfLoading Rifle, Business purpose)
  • Sasol Site specific knowledge and understanding.
  • Key Performance Indicators as per site requirements.
  • Complainant in Disciplinary hearings.
  • Basic knowledge of crime scene investigations.
  • Writing of statements.

Job Description:

  • Selfmotivated and result driven, ensuring good customer service, improving operational processes.
  • Develop and maintain operational strategy,
  • Ensure that feedback on projects is always provided to Branch Manager.
  • Ensuring subordinates are in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate and improve, performance and productivity
  • Generating reports and giving presentations
  • Coordinating crime prevention strategies
  • Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly reports for superiors and client
  • Ensure client service compliance as per contractual requirements
  • Maintain high risk reporting for clients and ensure risks are fully identified and ensure appropriate procedures are in place to mitigate the risk
  • Develop and maintain training of subordinates
  • Complete fleet schedule, incl. technology installed and site deployed, asset management
  • Complete firearms schedule, incl. responsible managers and allocated staff utilizing firearms, asset management.
  • Ensure posting is in line with compliance.
  • After hour site visits.
  • Maintaining guard discipline.
  • Site risk assessments.
  • Ensure client posting sheets are completed and submitted daily.
  • Attending of crime scenes
  • Attending court cases.
