Key performance areas, inter alia, include:

  • Guide and direct the relevant Users of the Internal Food Management Audit System to implement its requirements to comply with SA Legislation & Global Standards. There is a 30 page audit document that needs to be completed and comprises food, quality and OHS. One audit per quarter is required at the 15 Branches which will be followed up by an Audit Report. The audit findings are discussed with the relevant Branch Managers to ensure all findings and problems are resolved. There is a benchmark of 90% compliance.
  • Identify risks pertaining to each Business Unit and ways to mitigate. Also assist Supplier Quality Assurance Process for secondary Suppliers.
  • Assist with specific training requirements for all relevant parties.

  • Conduct thorough investigation into Customer Complaints that are reported and together with the relevant parties, all complaints have to be attended to and resolved. Where there is a food safety risk, then this needs to be immediately escalated and attended to.

Requirements:


  • Strong technical competence, e.g. understanding regulations, standards and guidelines in the food industry as well as Government regulations like Codes of Practice and Compliance as well as International Guidelines.
  • An independent, assertive and confident personality with an ability to cultivate relationships in a respectful and credible manner.
  • Excellent communicator which includes both oral and written as well as advanced computer literacy in MS Suite including Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook and Project.
  • A passion for the food industry, deadline driven, numerate, logical and is able to travel nationally.
