Our client in the Explosives Manufacturing industry is currently looking for an Employee Relations Manager with a minimum of +10 years of experience.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:


  • Employee Relations reporting and Identifying, and closing of gaps in the Employee Relations system.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with employee relations governance and processes: (e.g. disciplinary hearings, grievances, redundancies, industrial action, unfair labour practice, transfer of businesses, Bargaining Council, CCMA & labour court matters).
  • Understands the ER climate and challenges within the business and the potential impact.
  • Drives relationship and engagement management with key stakeholders (unions, management, employees, and external communities).
  • Represent the company in employer associations, e.g. NBCEA, etc.
  • Ascertains and communicates the impact of decisions and actions on wider employee relations, precedent setting, morale, and reputational risk.
  • Attends appeal hearings, seniorlevel grievances and other employee relations meetings as advisor and to ensure procedural and substantive fairness.
  • Ensures that Disciplinary and Incapacity procedures are adhered to.
  • Employee Relations conducted by legislation, codes of conduct and company policy.
  • Compliance with procedural and substantive fairness requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with HR guidelines and regulations.
  • Protection of the interests of both the Client and the employee and ensure valuedriven employee relations is created.
  • Drives the Employee Relations partnership forums for the business and engages with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Managers equipped to effectively deal with sensitive employee matters.
  • Assist with Collective Bargaining for the Sector where applicable.

Requirements:


  • Graduate degree in HR and or Law + relevant post graduate qualifications.
  • Must have 10 years' experience in Human Resources, in a unionized environment.
  • Must have 10 years' experience in managing Employee Relations function / service delivery.
  • Sound multifunctional stakeholder management and engagement abilities.
  • Ability to engage at Exco level when necessary.
  • Ability to Travel in South Africa and Africa International Sites.
