    MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

    To assist in financial control and support the financial management processes within a hospital environment.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

    • Collect, reconcile and prepare deposits for patient administration monies received.
    • Manage petty cash and administer sure cheque books.
    • Request tax invoices from suppliers and ensure timely payment.
    • Negotiate and manage hospital account relationships with suppliers.
    • Process and administer sundry invoices for contracts and other classified expenses.
    • Assist with capital procurement by performing shopping cart functions and receiving goods.
    • Perform buying and receiving functions for operational procurement.
    • Dispose, transfer and scrap assets as necessary.
    • Verify assets (equipment) and maintain accurate records.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION

    ESSENTIAL: Grade 12 qualification or equivalent.

    DESIRED: Certificate or Diploma in Management Accounting, Accounting or related Financial/Business field, with knowledge of SAP Accounting Software.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    ESSENTIAL: 2-3 years' experience in a financial setting or as a financial clerk/bookkeeper.

    DESIRED: Previous experience as a financial officer, preferably in a healthcare environment.

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

    • Asset management principles.
    • Patient administration programs on AS400 systems.
    • SAP Accounting Software expertise.
    • Financial management skills, including budgeting and financial planning.
    • Stock control procedures.
    • General financial administration, including invoice processing and manual payments.
    • VAT invoice regulations and compliance.
    • Statistical data generation and analysis.
