    Description

    Our client in Johannesburg is in need of a Packing Supervisor to join their team in the Midrand warehouse. You must have a customer-centric attitude with a passion for detail and aesthetics. Ideally, you have experience in retail, production or picking and packing processes where a strong focus is placed on quality and experience. You will be responsible for managing a small to medium team of picking and packing staff.

    Requirements:

    • A completed National Senior Certificate (matric / Grade 12) or NQF level 4 qualification.
    • At least three years' experience in a production, retail, e-commerce and/or warehouse environment.
    • Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
    • Experience in staff management.
    • Demonstrate a target-oriented and performance-driven attitude.
    • Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently and effectively, with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure, whilst maintaining attention to detail and excellence.
    • Ability to adapt to and implement change effectively.
    • Sustained high energy levels.
    • A creative approach to solving day-to-day challenges.
    • A strong sense of ambition.
    • Available to work on weekends and public holidays.
    • Computer literate (Microsoft Office apps).

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee picking and packing activities, whilst ensuring that orders are packed according to company standards, with a strong focus on the unboxing experience and quality of the packages.
    • Manage corporate orders according to prescribed instructions.
    • Ensure that preparation is done for seasonal offerings (Easter, Wine Club, Christmas, etc.).
    • Manage order volume by ensuring that packing productivity is met.
    • Enforce basic food hygiene and safety measures.
    • Manage picking and packing teams:
      • Provide continuous engagement and training for new products and specifications.
      • Develop and implement standard operating procedures.
      • Set performance indicators and ensure that targets are met.
      • Drive continuous improvement.
