Description
Education:
- Relevant Bachelors degree e.g., Engineering, Computer Science
Training Coarses:
- Data analytics
- Data governance and warehousing
- Report writing and data visualisation
- Coding (e.g., SQL; Python or R)
Skills/Experience required:
- 2 to 5 years relevant ICT industry experience
- Experience interpreting radio planning data is an advantage
- 2 to 3 years OEM or MNO experience is an advantage
- At least 2 to 3 years data analytics experience
- Experience with data governance and management
- Technical Competencies:
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Google Big Query)
- Report generation / report writing skills
- Experience with large scale data lake and data warehousing
- Analytical skills
- Ability to perform basic programming and understand different programming languages (such as SQL, Python and R)
- Ability to manipulate and manage large amounts of data, such as crowdsourced network data, (e.g., in Excel, PowerBI, Oracle Analytics) to render the information visually simple and comprehensible; coupled with the ability to use software tools like Microsoft Office, Google Big Query, GIS tools and programming languages (like SQL, Python and R).
Duties
Insights, analytics, and business intelligence
- Ensures that the latest crowdsourcing, population and other data are regularly uploaded into the systems and tools, (such as the DataLake).
Business performance metrics
- Monitors and maintains reporting to track and monitor the KPIs, thus enabling the tracking of business performance at regular (quarterly) strategy reviews
Reporting strategy execution
- Ensures standards/methods are applied for consistent reporting within the organisation.
- Ensures the provision of quality BI and insights to improve the value of the organisations reports.
- Ensures a central repository is maintained, with guidelines on how to store and save the reports for consistency and for easy access, as part of a holistic knowledge management capability.
- For example, provides guidelines for the Oracle reporting platforms, such as the way the directories are set up and categorised; the naming conventions; how to minimise the duplication of folders and reports; how to create consistency; and the accessibility of the reports.
- Assists other departments in creating simple reports to enhance their ability to gain insights and access to information to enable better decision making.
- Provides knowledge sharing on building reporting across the organization enabling specific users to build their own reports to the standard set.
Data management and data governance strategy
- Works with the regional data governance team and departments to identify and agree key/critical data that must be maintained according to agreed standards.
- Communicates and explains why the identified data fields are critical and the priority for cleaning the data, as well as the use case of those data fields.
- Ensures clear data ownership across the business, as well as measurement of data accuracy, by providing guidelines, standards, tools and templates.
- Works with the Systems and Business Process Manager (SBPM) and the process owners and data owners to look at ways to put process(es) in place to clean the data and maintain good data quality.
- Builds reporting, or supports the regional data governance teams, in creating reports to measure and track data quality and accuracy for the agreed critical data points.
- Supports the integration of data warehouses and modelling capabilities.
- Reports on quality of crowdsourced data, when required
