    Description
    Job Title: Network Security Engineer

    In this critical role, you will be responsible for the implementation and management of network security measures across various platforms, including PCs, Macs, and Linux systems. Your expertise in Cisco IOS/IOU equipment will enable you to effectively secure and monitor networks, ensuring data integrity and compliance with industry standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Gathers information from diverse sources to make informed assessments and recommendations.
    • Develops and implements network monitoring solutions to proactively identify potential threats.
    • Identifies security vulnerabilities in systems and recommends corrective actions.
    • Coordinates hardware installations, upgrades, and replacements, as well as performs system support activities.
    • Translates business requirements into technical designs, developing applications that meet specific needs.
    • Ensures seamless operation of multiple systems.
    • Collaborates with engineering teams, vendors, and customers to address network-related concerns.
    • Plans and conducts field tests to verify network configurations and provides recommendations for performance improvement.
    • Investigates unusual activity and determines root causes.
    • Performs documentation tasks, such as creating meeting slides, schedules, and technical reports, to ensure network security and data integrity.
    • Develops tools and configures Cisco products to evaluate, validate, and enforce network security policy.
    • Demonstrates best practices for configuring and managing network security in various environments and scenarios.
    • Collaborates with application and database engineers to optimize and troubleshoot network solutions.
    • Provides technical assistance and directs security testing activities for network and systems.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required.
    • Experience with networking security tools, software, and hardware is essential.
    • Experience with network infrastructure and security protocols is preferred.
    • Proficiency in Linux/Unix administration and network device administration is preferred.

    Estimated Salary:

    $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
