    Full time
    Description

Our client, a member of the JSE Derivatives Exchange also owns a licensed asset management company. The business specializes in the conception and execution of derivative-based risk mitigation solutions for a spectrum of customers.

They focus on leveraging innovative thinking, deep product knowledge and very strong client networks to deliver exceptional tailor-made investment solutions for the market.

    Attributes:

    • The successful candidate must be an all-rounder: with proven skills in academic achievement, must be social, self-driven, and dependable.

    Quantitative Pedigree:

    • Our client trades in complex derivative instruments, so a successful candidate will need to show evidence of a very strong quantitative academic pedigree in the fields of mathematics/stats/quants/physics/financial mathematics or actuarial science.

    Client Relationships:

    • Strong relationships with clients are a critical component to our client's success. To this end, a successful candidate would need to be gregarious, social and show an ability to network, socialize and relate to people. This often requires commitment to duty outside of conventional office hours - entertainment/events etc

    Team Player:

    • Our client's team is small and very close-knit. The company culture is non-hierarchical and job descriptions are not formalized. The successful candidate would need to be independent, self-motivated and demonstrate a willingness to sacrifice self-interests for team interests and to assume whatever role necessary to further the interests of the business.

    Experience:

    • The successful candidate is likely to be a young university graduate with little or no professional experience.

    Remuneration:

Our client believes in rewarding success. The remuneration model is highly performance focused – performance of the team overall and performance of the individuals within the team. However, performance bonuses are paid monthly and can be very lucrative. Candidates who require big monthly fixed salaries are more suited to bigger, more mature organisations. Our client's team members must match the company's profile in being young, mobile and willing to take risk in their endeavors, accepting a low salary in exchange for large potential performance bonuses, which will deliver based on performance.

A successful candidate will have the opportunity to enter the exciting field of derivative instruments / financial services with one of South Africa's leading specialists. The candidate will be expected to learn quickly from our client and to add value as soon as possible after joining.
