To support the Head, Governance & Controls by taking responsibility for the overall management and co-ordination of the quality of work processed within Fraud Solutions in order to enhance customer experience while ensuring compliance to the applicable policies, procedures and legislative/regulatory frameworks.

To provide input on the development, implementation and embedment of the strategic initiatives undertaken by Fraud Solutions ensuring that the necessary actions are taken in line with the Strategic direction of Fraud Solutions.

This exciting role further aims to take responsibility for developing techniques, overseeing and analysing trends to assist business in optimising and influence business strategy and considerations


To identify Fraud related process breakages and work with analysts across the fraud risk environment, identify potential fraud Trends, Threats and Modus Operandi across all products and channels.

Protect the bank from the inherent risks and impact associated with fraud by ensuring effective Fraud Intelligence communication to all stakeholders who can mitigate fraud losses and ensure that such losses remain within the set fraud risk appetite.


Job Description:


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Accountability:
Fraud Assurance

  • Deliver & elevate risks aligned to the GAAS (Generally accepted auditing standards) across Fraud Solutions
  • Provide independent Assurance, Insights & Objectivity for Fraud Solutions to better interpret the risk landscape of the business.
  • Partner with Business owners to ensure adherence to absa group's risk policy frameworks
  • Provide operational teams with business recommendations by adhering to the 5C's postaudit reviews (i.e. Criteria, Condition, Cause, Consequences & Corrective Action)
  • Align and drive the Fraud Solution's overall Business Strategy & objectives
  • Ensure quality assurance standards are adhered to by monitor work quality and provide effective reporting to senior management in a documented and consistent reporting format.
  • Enhance performance standards by ensuring that training or coaching of staff, where such need is implemented.
  • Participate in formal review of the Quality Assurance processes and formulate recommendations on how to enhance service delivery
  • Critically analyse and make recommendations in continuous improvement of the Quality Assurance Framework
  • Thoroughly understand relevant policies, processes and procedures in order to ensure that all such documentation is aligned to the Quality Assurance testing framework
  • Identify control failures and gaps and further ensure that such control failures are reported and escalated punctually and appropriate risk mitigating steps are taken.
  • Collaborate with respective operational areas, which includes but not limited Operational Risk, Compliance and Legal to design the measurement tool criteria which will test business efficiency and agent competence.

Accountability:
Business Management

  • Take overall responsibility to manage team members in your division in order to achieve operational targets including prioritization.
  • Set strategic targets and take accountability for the monitoring and achievement of performance objectives in the department in terms of employee satisfaction, customer experience, and cost performance, return on investments, risk, and compliance and governance requirements. Create quarterly and monthly plans to ensure delivery for the year.
  • Implement productivity improvement measures by coaching staff on any new processes or on their areas of improvement.
  • Participate in the measurement and reporting of internal and external Service Level Agreements on a monthly basis.
  • Address any process failures specific to the department under management.

Accountability:
Risk Management

  • Take responsibility to ensure that processes, control requirements and risk management frameworks that have been designed for the area and continuously reviewed and updated and are understood by all members of the team.
  • Complete required compliance attestations.
  • Log all Risk and Loss events as a result of error or fraud highlighted in the department. Ensure that the issues are thoroughly investigated and closed or escalated as per policy.
  • Ensure that the team understands all compliance requirements and highlight gaps to the Head.
