DISA PRIMARY SCHOOL (HOUT BAY)
The School is seeking an Educator - Afrikaans first additional language, (Grade 4 & 5) who has a high expectation of all learners, a belief in their potential to succeed in life and a strong commitment to building a learner-centric culture.

CORE ROLE
To engage in class teaching, including the academic, administrative, educational, disciplinary and reporting aspects and to organise extra and co-curricular activities so as to ensure that the education of the learners is promoted in a proper manner and undertake all assigned roles and responsibilities as updated from year to year and as reflected in your Work Plan.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Create a learning and teaching environment which enables all learners to be productively engaged in individual and cooperative learning.
- Manage time and available resources to promote optimal learning and teaching for all learners. Supervise activities efficiently, to achieve relevant learning outcomes.
- Use expert knowledge, in addition to Outcomes and Assessment Standards, to promote learner interest and research in the specific Learning Area/Subject.
- Effectively use planning instruments leading towards a higher form of learning/ understanding.
- Provide excellent management of content and context within the timeframes stipulated in the Work Schedule accompanied by relevant intervention strategies.
- Maintain records meticulously; analysing records to diagnose learner needs and teaching effectiveness.
- Provide feedback using a variety of strategies, using remedial and enrichment measures that instil confidence in learners to achieve intended learning outcomes.
- Know and use a range of forms of assessment techniques to continuously maximise learner achievement and raise the standards of teaching and learning.
- Deliver optimal learner results in the relevant Learning Area / Subject outcomes.
- Participate fully in all professional development activities, including coaching and offsiting initiating and delivering professional development activities, etraining; take a leading role.
- Maintain exemplary conduct and truly display the purpose and intent of the educators' code of professional ethics.
- Network with relevant stakeholders and encourage development of extramural or cocurricular activities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- REQV13 education qualification is a minimum requirement; REQV14 would be an advantage
- REQV 13 applicants must have a minimum of 3 years teaching experience
- REQV 14 applicants must have a minimum of 1 year teaching experience
- Indepth knowledge of phasespecific curriculum.
- A professional track record of excellence, both personally and professionally;
- Registration with the South African Council of Educators (SACE)
- Valid driver's license
- Police clearance certificate
- Google Suite training advantageous
Pay:
R33 000,00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Cape Town,
Western Cape:
Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
